Meanwhile in the woods, just outside of her home town, Brook sat crouched on her toes. Hidden among the brushes and weeds of the forest's treeline, she scanned her town for the movement of Crazies. After a moment, she felt sure the coast was clear and slowly appeared from the treeline. Entering the town as stealthy as a church mouse, she made her way to the town's general store. Her home town, being so small, surrounded by wood's and easily overlooked, not many looters ransacked the buildings. This left a great deal of useful supplies behind that Brook and Emily had been surviving off of for the months they were out in the woods.
Brook entered the store slowly, keeping an alert eye out for trouble. As she started to put things in her bag: a few candy bars, first aid materials, canned food and anything else she could use. Daryl sat down next to Brook and took a hold of her right hand. Brook quickly pulled it away from him, glaring. "What the hell are you doing?" She snapped as Daryl sighed, annoyed.
"Oh, shut up and give me your damn hand," he said, grabbing it again, looking it over before he started to wrap it up with Brook's fresh bandages. Brook didn't know how to react to his act of kindness. To Brook, throughout her life, men had been nothing to her but trouble makers and perverts. Yet as Emily had stated to her, down by the fire earlier yesterday as they cooked the boar, Daryl seemed to be different from all the other men she knew. True, he could be a real asshole, and even a dickhead at times, but he was also caring and kindhearted. It was just very rarely shown.
